So Tired

It was blissfully quiet. After a long days work going back and forth across everything, all Jia needed at the moment was to sleep. He had crawled into bed, alone. He usually disliked the thought of sleeping without his usual companion, both of them accustomed at that point to not be able to sleep without a warm body beside each other. But Jia was exhausted, warm body or not he was going to sleep. After taking a hot shower and skipping a meal, he got into his rarely used black silk pajamas and climbed into bed. His lover/best friend/companion had gone out with his friends for the night, letting Jia get some much needed rest. He slept alone, undisturbed for a few peaceful hours, on his side his head cradled by the soft pillows and the thick soft gray comforter pulled up around his shoulders. He slept to the side of the bed, leaving room for Toki whenever he decided to get home.

At three that morning, Toki fumbled with the lock and finally managed to stumble inside, loosing his balance and managing not to make his face and the floor collide only by grabbing the door knob at the last second. He struggled to get back to his feet as he then closed and locked the door. Or at least attempted to. After failing to figure out which snap was what for what, he gave up and kicked off his boots. He stumbled through the darkness of the apartment, tripping and almost falling several times in his drunken haze. Once he finally got to the bedroom, he paused to slowly undress, pulling off his coat and shirt, letting both fall to the floor as he then sat on the floor to remove his socks, no longer trusting himself on one foot. Once he was barefoot, he stood back up and walked over to Jia’s side of the bed. He smiled to himself before falling on top of him, throwing his leg over Jia as he laid on top of him, pinning Jia underneath him. Jia woke up almost immediately as he sighed, seeing he couldn’t move his arms or legs. He thought for a moment Toki had fallen asleep but was surprised to see Toki pick his head up and look at him as he said,
"Li."
"Hi Toki. Go to sleep."
"Li…I love you."
"I love you too. Go to sleep."

Toki refused to though and set himself up on his elbows as he put his hands on Jia’s face, pinching his cheeks as he said,

"No, Li, I love you. Tell me you love me."
"I love you Toki. Go to bed."
"Tell me again."
"What? Why?"
"I wanna hear. Tell me."
He began to whine, a clear sign that Toki was beyond drunk. Jia began to wonder to himself how Toki even managed to make it back to their apartment in one piece. It was quiet for a moment before Toki then said,

"Li?"
"What?"
"Tell me you love me."
"I love you Toki. Go to sleep."

"I love you too Li."
"Good night."
It was quiet for a moment, Jia resigning to himself that he would sleep now and wake up later with a very hung over Toki beside him. He closed his eyes and suddenly felt the lid being pulled back, his eye being exposed to the suddenly cold air and Toki’s face peering down at him as he said,

"Li…? You sleeping?"
"Toki go to sleep! I’m tired!"

"Why you yellin at me!?"
"Toki please go to sleep. I’m tired."
It was quiet, Toki now letting go of his eyelid as he rested his head down under Jia’s chin. A moment later,

"Li?"
Jia sighed annoyed as he said,

"What Toki?"
"You tired?"

Jia decided to ignore him, showing him he was tired rather then saying it. Toki however, in his drunken state would not take that as a response. He pulled Jia’s eyelid back again, pinching his cheek with his free hand as he said,
"Li? Li? Li?"

"Toki go to sleep! Please! I have to wake up tomorrow to go to work!"

It was quiet again Toki looking at him with quiet awe as Jia turned his head, trying to sleep despite the fact that Toki was still straddled on top of him.

"Li?"

Jia sighed grinding his teeth as he said,
"What?"
"You tired?"
"Yes Toki, I’m so, so tired. Please, let me sleep."

"I’m not tired."
"I am."
A few blissful moments of silence went on before Jia once again heard,

"Li?"
Another annoyed sigh.

"What Toki?"
"Wanna fuck?"
"No, I’m tired."

"But I’m not."
"Fine, do what you want. I just want to sleep."
"Is no fun if you’re not awake!"

He started whining again. Jia slowly began loosing his temper again as he said,
"Toki, please just go to sleep. I’m so tired. I just want to sleep. Please."
"Tell me you love me."

"How many times do you want me to tell you!?"
"A lot!"

Jia almost screamed in frustration as he said,

"I love you Toki."
"I love you too Li."

He received a kiss on the lips, Toki’s breath heavily laced with alcohol as he then moved back and set his head down. Jia sighed, hoping it was the end. He set his head back down, trying his best to get comfortable when he heard,

"Li?"

"I’m gonna kill you. What do you want?"
"You’re comfortable."
"So glad you think so. Toki just lay down and go to sleep."

Suddenly he heard a soft snore coming from Toki, who still laid on top of him. Jia could feel his arms and legs starting to go numb as he said,

"Oh no he didn’t just fall asleep on top of me…"

The soft snore continued as Jia groaned, knowing it was sleeping with numb and useless limbs or trying to toss Toki off him and risk waking him up for another twenty minutes of mindless, drunken chatter. Jia decided not to risk it as he sighed sadly and tried his best for what felt like the hundredth time, to get comfortable with a very drunk and very heavy Toki laying on top of him.

"I so hate you right now."

Toki only answered with a soft snore.
